I’m Nicki, an educational Information and Communication Technology consultant or, in short form, professional geek.
I got my first computer well before Microsoft Windows arrived on the scene. I first got online several years before the internet had pictures, sound or movies. My own children were still quite small when I realised that the computer and the internet could be valuable in their learning.
I trained as a primary school teacher, but my passion shifted to supporting schools with their ICT needs. You can read about my work with schools and non- profits here.
As a professional working in schools alongside teachers, kids and parents – and as a parent and grandparent myself – I am also aware of the challenges facing the 21st century family.
I know you have questions like…
- How can I monitor my children’s online activity?
- How do I keep my children safe in the online environment?
- How do I protect my family photos from loss or theft?
- How do I move my photos and videos from my smart phone to my PC?
I have the know-how to show you how to make the most of your iPad and iPhone, Android smartphone and tablet or Windows Phone and Windows 8 device, along with more general support for your PC, Mac or laptop.
One thing I’m really good at is translating technical speak into plain English. If you would like to have a chat about getting your home digital environment up and running efficiently and safely, get in touch today!
