What, Why and How!
Skype is a tool that allows people to talk to each other using their internet connection rather than over traditional phonelines. You can use Skype to call anyone who has the software installed on their computer. You don’t pay the toll call charges and it’s really simple to use. The software is free if you are calling another computer. If you want to call a landline or mobile phone then you do have to pay.
You can use Skype on any internet connected computer – PC, Mac, Linux, I can even use it on my PocketPC (now that is an interesting idea!).
Download the software here.
Installing and choosing a username help here. Allow the software to scan your address book and see who is already connected!
You can use Skype to set up a video call! The instructions are simple and easy to follow.
